Regulatory Compliance

The culture of non-compliance is pervasive and prevalent even in the higher education system. Re-establishing the culture of compliance requires strong commitment to compliance issues that addresses and co-ordinates the requirements with which an institution must comply with pursuance to law, rules & regulations, institutional policies and standard best practices.

It is an onerous and critical responsibility of higher education providers and administrators to always observe to comply with the rules.

As part of our advocacy campaigns for regulatory compliance, we will deal primarily with the under listed issue areas, as a pilot:

  • Accountability
  • Accreditation
  • Conflict of interests
  • Grant Management
  • Environment, Health and Safety issues
  • Sexual misconducts

Also, in furthering the overall objective of encouraging, developing and managing effective institutional compliance practices we have created the Hed-Core compliance matrix.

The matrix is a concise summary of laws, regulations and institutional policy guidelines, including links to relevant additional resources. A reference source of information compiled from publicly available government organization sources and other secondary sources that users can easily access, sorting by titles, sections, topics and coverage areas.

  • Routine informational clearing house for laws, regulations and institutional policy guidelines that may impact higher education institutions.

NOTE: While appropriate effort has been made to provide updated information, there may be delays or omissions on the site, given the volume and rapid change of laws and regulations. Please consult your lawyer.
