WAN ePhotobook Platform
This is the central hub of the program, comprising visual data, for showcasing exciting individual stories of leading female academics, and is intended to give the project lasting aesthetic significance that goes beyond temporary visibility campaigns, to include being the main tool to inspire and motivate.
The primary purpose is to create a narrative. Instead of just listing achievements and contributions, the ePhotobook combines imagery, research, sharp narratives, and quotes to tell compelling stories of WAN women’s life journeys and experiences in the academic environment.
The featuring of women’s work in a visually appealing public format helps to make their often-unheard stories visible and contributes to their recognition and empowerment within the academic community and beyond.
The visual data can be shared easily, cheaply, and quickly through the readily available digital platforms and online media channels, such as institutions’ websites, social media etc., thereby reaching a broader audience without shipping fees.
The ephotobook will be linked to all other interactive elements of the Women in Academia Nigeria Recognition Campaign and partner websites. Snippets will be shared on other platforms and channels with links to the full ePhotobook to encourage and attract comments, reactions, and feedback from the wider academic community and the general public.
This will serve as a permanent and regularly updated digital record, and a ready source for selecting female academics to be featured and recognized in subsequent project circles of the recognition campaigns meant to showcase the achievements and contributions of women in Nigeria academic community.
