The WAN ePhotobook is the digital visual digital data compilation that showcases the profound stories of prominent Nigerian female academics who have excelled in their various disciplines.
The ePhotobook combines imagery, research, narratives, and quotes to tell compelling stories of women’s life journeys and experiences in academia,
These imageries are made available and shared through multiple digital channels to reach broader audiences.
Women in Academia Nigeria
In spite of the significant strides made by women in academia in Nigeria, they still face systemic barriers and underrepresentation in top positions in higher education.
The campaign “Women in Academia Nigeria” aims to increase visibility and promote recognition of their achievements and contributions, address systemic barriers and advocate formal gender-neutral policies and support systems, aiming for improved quality of education.
WAN Volunteer Program
The Women in Academia Nigeria Volunteer Program is a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering women pursuing careers in higher education and research.
As a volunteer, you’ll contribute your time, skills, and passion to support mentorship programs, capacity-building workshops, and advocacy projects that break barriers for women in academia.

WAN Writing Competition
The Women in Academia Nigeria Essay Writing Competition is an online writing challenge designed for highly motivated female students across Nigeria.
It aims to sharpen writing skills and gain national recognition for students. Participants are expected to choose from university-style prompts and national scope purely focusing on the achievements and contributions of high-profile Nigerian female academics featured in the Women in Academia Nigeria campaigns.
Female VC Spotlight Series
The Female Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Spotlight Series recognizes and celebrate pioneering women leading Nigerian Universities, highlighting their leadership, achievements, and impact on higher education.
