• Discipline/Field of Study (dropdown or free text)
• Institutional Affiliation (optional)
• Academic Interests (tags or keywords)
• Short Bio (optional, 150 words max)

3. Forum Role Selection

• Default role: Participant
• Option to indicate interest in:
  • Contributor (active posting)
  • Mentor (supporting early‑career academics)
  • Moderator (community governance)

4. Agreement & Consent

• Checkbox: “I have read and agree to the Community Guidelines & Charter.”
• Checkbox: “I consent to my information being used for forum participation.”
• Link to Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

5. Signup Actions

• Register Button → Creates account and sends confirmation email.
• Login Link → For returning members.
• Social/Institutional Login Options (optional): Sign in with university credentials, ORCID, or LinkedIn.

6. Post‑Signup Flow

• Redirect to Getting Started Orientation Page.
• Prompt to complete profile setup (upload photo, add interests).
